Court extends Faizal Sheikh's police custody
Mumbai, Aug 9 (UNI) A local court today extended the remand of Faizal Sheikh and his brother Muzzamil Sheikh for their alleged involvement in the recent July 11 serial train blasts in Mumbai, till August 22.
Faizal is alleged to be the head of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in western India.
The duo were produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate A M Garde and the investigating officials prayed for the extension of their custody for further investigation.
While moving a remand application, the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) officials stated that Faizal was head of LeT operative from western region of the country and involved in raising funds for LeT and sending youths to Pakistan for weapons and bomb manufacturing training.
In the July 11 serial blasts on Mumbai's suburban trains about 187 people were killed and over 700 were injured.
