Car rams into stationary truck; five killed

Dhamtari, Aug 9 (UNI) Five people were killed after a speeding car rammed into a stationary truck on the Bastar road, around five km from this district headquarters in Chhattisgarh, early today, police said.

The vehicle, returning from Chiraud eatery, crashed into the timber-laden truck near Shyamtarai forest produce checkpost. It took a long time for the bodies to be extricated.

The victims were identified as civil contractors Radheshyam Sharma, Manoj Gupta and Gopal Soni besides businessmen Manohan Moolwani and Ashok Jain. They were aged between 40 and 43 years.
