BOC group to set up IM operations in Kolkata
Kolkata, Aug 09 (UNI) UK's BOC Group plc would set up a centre of excellence for information management in Kolkata.
The Euro 4.5 billion company would invest five million pounds to move its global information management support service operations to the city, BOC group's director (information management services) Peter Dew and state IT minister Devesh Das told reporters.
The centre of excellence promoted by BOC Global Support Services Pvt Ltd, a 100 per cent arm of BOC Group plc, would virtually be a global hub to manage diverse information systems of BOC's operations spanning 50 countries.
BOC has three other such centres in other parts of the world and the Kolkata centre would be the fourth one.
The centre at BOC's Taratola plant would house 120 professionals, mainly from Kolkata.
"We have chosen Kolkata mainly because of the availability of world class IT professionals," Dew said.
