Kolkata, Aug 09 (UNI) The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) today alleged that the Left Front Government in West Bengal was trying to please American multi-national capital by refusing to ban Coke and Pepsi beverages in the state.

" Even though high toxicity in cold beverages like those of Coke and Pepse has been proved, the CPI(M)-led Government has decided not to ban these products now in the state only to please the imperailist US capitalists, " party's state Committee Secretary Pravas Ghosh said in a statement.

This proved that the ruling Left Front was not even averse to precipitating the people's lives to remain in power with the blessings of both domestic monopolists and foreign multinational capitalists, he alleged.

Mr Ghosh appealed to the people to protest the Front Government's role and boycot the two soft drink brands.
