Former parliamentarian injured in Colombo explosion

Colombo, Aug 8: Former parliamentarian of the anti-LTTE Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP), was wounded in an explosion in the heart of the city a few minutes ago, party sources said today.

"Our former MP, M Sivadasan was injured in the explosion at Bambalapitiya," the party sources said, adding that he had been rushed to hospital.

The nature of the explosion is not immediately known, the sources said.
