PM urged to give jobs to blast victims

New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been urged to provide suitable jobs to one member each of the families who lost their dear ones in the July 11 Mumbai blasts and to the survivors.

The demand has been made by Mumbai Congress chief Gurudas Kamat in a letter to Dr Singh.

According to Mr Kamat, the government should consider employment for the blast victims to help them recover and lead a normal life.

The letter, written by Mr Kamat last month, also seeks tax exemption for the compensation given to the families of the dead and to the injured.

The demand for tax exemption was accepted by Finance Minister P Chidambaram yesterday.
