No project should be hampered due to delay in acquiring land

Hyderabad, Aug 8 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today told officials that no irrigation project should be hindered on account of delay in land acquisition.

Holding a review meeting on progress in this area, he exhorted officials to speed up land acquisition for all irrigation projects.

Urging officials to take utmost care as relief and rehabilitation was a sensitive task, Dr Reddy, who reviewed the district-wise progress of land acquisition, wanted officals to bring to the Government's notice any problems, for speedy resolution.

The state had an excellent Land Acqusition policy with clearly spelt out benefits, he noted.

Referring to the Pulichintla project across the River Krishna, he wanted officials to reconcile the statistics at first instance and the Collectors of Guntur and Nalgonda to sort out any pending issues with the Commissioner, Endowments.
