Kolkatans swelter in heat as Met office predicts rain
Kolkata, Aug 8 (UNI) While its pouring misery in Mumbai, a relentless sun was beating down on Kolkatans.
Since the last two days the citizens have been braving a harsh sun in absence of any rainfall. They sweltered in sky rocketing temperatures with a high humidity level worsening the situation.
According to the Met department, the temperature soared to a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius from a high of 29 degrees Celsius a couple of days ago. The minimum was 26 degrees Celsius.
However, there was a hopeful note as they forecast rains within the next 48 hours.
The relative humidity was high at 99 per cent, Met officials added.
