Indian Navy to induct more aircraft and submarines: Adm Prakash

Bhopal, Aug 8 (UNI) Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Arun Prakash today said a scheme was underway to induct more aircraft and submarines for strengthening the Indian Navy.

''A scheme has been forwarded to the Government for inducting more aircraft and submarines besides further training of personnel,'' he told reporters here in an oblique reference to paucity of equipment and manpower.

''After funds are received under the scheme, the Indian Navy -- which is among the best in the world -- will be made more powerful by 2020. Sri Lanka Army personnel are undergoing training in our country. India and Sri Lanka enjoy cordial relations,'' said Adm Prakash while adding that his officers and men were involved in flood-relief work in a few states.
