Panaji, Aug 8 (UNI) The Goa government has decided to offer one-time exemption of entry tax on capital goods for industries to facilitate capacity expansion of the existing units.

In his post-cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane told mediapersons today that the exemption was available for green field units which want to set up shop in Goa.

This, he said, would encourage the industry to expand their capacities for development besides attract new industry.

The Chief Minister had also ruled out apprehensions that the proposed 6-lane express highway in Goa would affect thousands of families on the road side.

He said the express highway road width would be 50 metres but not 150 metres as was being apprehended by some politicians and the public. It is still at the planning stage, he added.

The project was aimed at speedy movement of transport to promote faster and economic growth, he said.
