Forest dept slaps notice on Aamir Khan in Chinkara hunting case
Ahmedabad, Aug 8 (UNI) The Gujarat Forest Department today served a legal notice to Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, seeking clarification from him within seven days on how did he possess the Chinkara deer which is protected under the Wildlife Protection Act.
The notice also seeks to know whether the actor was granted permission for its hunting and in case he was permitted, on what basis he had used that permission to turn it for commercial purposes.
The Wildlife Protection Act clearly prohibits hunting of the deer for commercial or private use of the protected species, said a source in the forest department.
