Bomb scare at Kolkata International airport
Kolkata, Aug 08: Security was tightened at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport today after a bomb scare.
Airport sources said an unidentified caller rang up Assistant Commissioner, Customs, around 2 PM, warning him in English that two Bangladesh Biman flights from Dhaka contained RDX explosives.
However, one of the flights PG 091 from Dhaka had already arrived at 10 AM and subsequently left for Bangladesh capital.
The second flight PG 093 is also expected from Dhaka in the evening.
The entry of visitors to the airport had been banned earlier for security reasons, airport sources said adding following the telephonic call security agencies had been asked to be specially alert.
