Baghdad bombs kill nine people -- police sources
BAGHDAD, Aug 8 (Reuters) Three separate roadside bomb attacks in Baghdad today killed at least nine people, Iraqi police sources said.
Two of the blasts targeted police, said the sources. The target of the third explosion was not immediately clear.
The United States has boosted its troop levels in the Iraqi capital in an effort to stop insurgent and sectarian violence from escalating.
The violence is claiming around 100 lives every day and sapping confidence in Iraq's new Shi'ite-led government.
