UNI Journalist attacked, robbed of cell phone

New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) A journalist working with the United News of India was attacked and robbed of his cellphone late last night by unidentified assailants, while he was returning home from office.

The incident took place at the high security Ashok Road opposite Gurudwara Bangla Sahib past midnight, when Mr Praveen Kumar Singh was walking back to his residence at Baba Kharag Singh Marg.

He was attacked by three people, waiting at the Bangla Sahib bus stand and was pushed against the iron grills.

Mr Singh suffered severe injuries in his abdomen and was admitted to the RML Hospital nearby, from where he was discharged this morning.

An FIR has been lodged at the Parliament Street police station.
