TN Govt inks MoU with Apollo Tyres for Rs 520 crore project
Chennai, Aug 7 (UNI) Apollo Tyres Limited would make an investment of about Rs 520 crore to establish truck, bus and car radial tyre manufacturing base in the Oragadam Industrial Park of SIPCOT near here.
An official release here said today a MoU in this regard was signed between the Tamil Nadu Government and Apollo Tyres in the presence of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
The new project would generate employment for about 2000 persons.
It would be set-up in an area of 135 acres.
Chennai was developing as the hub of automobile industry. With the establishment of the new plant, the automobile industries in and around Chennai, would get further boost, the release added.
