SSI sector in K'taka asked to look at rural areas
Bangalore, Aug 7 (UNI) Karnataka Small Scale Industries Minister Shivanand Naik today urged the industrialists to diversify their business in rural areas for an all round growth of the State.
Taking part in an interaction with small scale industrialists from different parts of the State here, he said it was time for the industrialists, who had been concentrating on big cities, to focus on developing their units in rural areas. The Government was committed to provide all cooperation and infrastructure facilities for the development of industries in the rural regions, he added.
The Government was aware that the State could achieve faster growth only through development of SSIs, Mr Naik said.
Some industrialists urged the Government to set up a separate secretariat for the promotion of SSIs in the State, while others asked for a Round Table Conference with all concerned to enable better coordination and solve inter-departmental problems.
