Sensex trades 42 pts down in intra-noon trading

Mumbai, Aug 7 (UNI) The BSE Sensex was down by 42 points at 10,823.58 in the intra-noon trade, on account of hike in crude oil prices, which weighed heavy in the form of auto and oil and gas scrips.

Major indices which are down in red on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) are - oil and gas, down 1.03 per cent; IT is down 0.81 per cent, capital goods is down 0.33 per cent, and auto sector is down by 0.45 per cent.

The gainers on the index are - ICICI, BHEL, ITC, SBI and HDFC Bank, all down between 0.41 and 2.92 per cent.

The losers on the index are - Wipro, Bharti Airtel, Hero Honda, Satyam Computers, L&T and ONGC, all down between 1.57 and 2.34 per cent.
