Sensex opens three pts in red, trade at 10,829.04
Mumbai, Aug 7: The BSE sensitive index today opened three points in the red over firm crude oil price.
After opening at 10,863.28 compared to the previous close of 10866.51 points the BSE sensitive index currently trades at 10,829.04, which is 37 points less from the previous close.
The Asian benchmark indices are in a mixed state. Stocks in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia were in the green whereas markets in Japan, Taiwan and South Korea were trading in the red.
Major sectoral indices on the BSE were both in a positive as well as negative territory. MidCap, Smallcap, Namkex and Capital Goods were all trading in the green between 0.06 to 0.16 per cent. Whereas the sectors which are trading in the negative are O&G, IT, Consumer Durables and Auto, the last two largely influenced by the hike in the crude oil price. All were trading down bewteen 0.32 to 0.76 per cent.
Major gainers on the index were - ICICI, BHEL, HLL, NTPC, and Tata Motors all up between 0.60 to 1.50 per cent.
Major losers on the index were Wipro, Bharti Airtel, Hero Honda, Satyam, Reliance Communications, and Dr Reddy's Lab all down between 1.13 to 2.38 per cent.
