Rs six crore sanctioned for drain repair work in Eluru

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Aug 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today sanctioned Rs six crore for immediate repair work on the Nakkala Drain in Eluru in West Godavari District.

The Chief Minister who visited the district inspected the Nakkala Drain, which breached on both sides due to floods.

Dr Reddy directed the officials to immediately start the repair works as soon as the situation improved.

Dr Reddy assured that the government would provide house sites at upland areas for the people residing in low lying areas and would construct houses in high level areas.

He visited the relief camps.

The Chief Minister said necessary steps would be taken to strengthen the Godavari river embankment.
