Ranthambhore beefs up security to stop illegal grazing
Jaipur, Aug 7 (UNI) A new security system has been developed at Ranthambhore National Park to stop illegal grazing and poaching this season.
Forest sources say this special information system will allow immediate action by the security forces if there are grazing and poaching incidents anywhere in the park, known the world over for tigers.
Nine check posts manned by Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) have been set up in different areas of the 392 square km park to stop any illegal grazing by animals. Around 40 homeguards and security guards have also been posted in the park.
The guards have been provided with helmets, shields and powerful torches to stop any poaching incident at night.
The rainy season makes the park and the surrounding areas lush and green and as such villagers bring their animals to feed on the grass. There's always tension between the villagers and forest administration over the issue, as grazing inside the park is banned.
