Parliament adjourned thrice on oil payoff issue
New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) Opposition stalled Parliament proceedings for the second straight day today demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, owning moral responsibility for the leakage of the Justice R S Pathak Inquiry Authority report to a television channel.
The two houses witnessed as many as three adjournments each, the third time for the day immediately after the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha had assembled after lunch.
Privilege notices were sought to be moved in both the Houses against the Prime Minister for the leak.
While former External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh wanted to move the notice in the Upper House, the BJP had taken the initiative in the Lower House.
The Justice Pathak report and the government's action taken report (ATR) were tabled in the two Houses amid pandemonium.
The opposition had stalled Parliament proceedings on Friday also on the same issue. Justice Pathak had submitted his report to Dr Singh on Thursday and the same evening, a television channel had carried the details of the report.
