OPEC says concerned at Alaska oilfield shutdown
LONDON, Aug 7 (Reuters) Oil producer group OPEC said on Monday it was concerned at the closure of BP's Alaska oilfield and would work to ensure that there was no supply shortage as a result.
The producer group added in a statement to Reuters that its spare production capacity was more than adequate to take care of the shortfall resulting from the shutdown for repairs of the Prudhoe Bay field.
''The Organization will study the situation and react as appropriate,'' OPEC said.
