Ministerial staff in Pondy to go on strike from Aug 11
Pondicherry, Aug 7 (UNI) The ministerial staff has resolved to go on a mass casual leave on August 11 as the territorial administration had failed to fulfil the demands it promised earlier to the staff.
Talking to newspersons here today, Pondicherry State Government Employees Central Federation General Secretary Latchumanasamy said the government had failed to fulfil the demands like provision of Rs 5500-9000 pay scale to ministerial staffs with retrospective effect from January one, 1996 and to upgrade the LDC and UDC posts with effect from the same date.
Besides holding a demonstration in front of the Chief Secretariat here on August nine, the ministerial staff would go on a mass casual leave and observe a dharna in front of the Chief Secretariat on August 11, he added.
Mr Latchumanasamy said the matter was apprised to the joint secretary to the Home Ministry K S Sugadan who came to Pondicherry yesterday.
While Mr Sugathan had informed that the issues could be resolved in Pondicherry itself, the chief secretary was hindering the process, he alleged.
