Mahindra looking to shift to Goa if Cooperage not revamped

Mumbai, Aug 7 (UNI) Mahindra and Mahindra today said that they are trying to revamp the Cooperage stadium but if they do not get proper response from the higher-ups, then they would not hesitate to move to Goa.

Mahindra and Mahindra Vice Chairman and Managing Director Anand Mahindra, speaking after the signing of an agreement between Tech Mahindra and UEFA, said that they were hopeful that their ongoing talks with the Western India Football Association (WIFA) and Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, President, All India Football Federation (AIFF) results in something concerete so that the Cooperage stadium can be revamped at the earliest, otherwise they have a right to move to a place where they can play football on a decent ground with good facilities.

Mahindra and Mahindra senior advisor Alan Durante, who is also in charge of the Mahindra United football team, said that he had talks with the Goa Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane in connection with acquiring a ground in Panaji.

''However, this is only a back-up if our efforts to revamp Cooperage do not succeed, he added.
