Lebanon army calls reserves, may deploy to south
BEIRUT, Aug 7 (Reuters) The Lebanese army called up reservists today ahead of a possible deployment of 15,000 troops to the south of the country, security and political sources said.
''This is a preparatory move ahead of a decision that may come out of the cabinet to deploy 15,000 soldiers to the south,'' the political source said. A security source said: ''We need to boost our numbers.'' Reuters MQA RN2241
