K'taka may revoke ban on recruitment of lecturers

Gulbarga, Aug 7 (UNI) The Karnataka Government is considering revoking the ban imposed in 1998 on recruitment of lecturers, Higher Education Minister D H Shankaramurthy informed today.

Addressing a press conference at Sadam, about 50 km from here, he said a decision would be taken after discussing the proposal at the next cabinet meeting.

He said the government was yet to taken a decision on a suitable place for setting up the Law University.

To a question, Mr Shankaramurthy said the education department officials would hold discussion with the Gulbarga University Vice Chancellor on the semester system.

The Minister, earlier, took part in the centenary celebrations of the JNRL Law College at Sadam.
