Karat demands probe into leakage of Pathak report

Amritsar, Aug 7 (UNI) CPM general secretary Prakash Karat today said the nation had the right to know the mystery shrouding the leakage of the Pathak report indicting former External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh and his MLA son Jagat Singh in Iraq's oil-for-food scam.

''The government should order a probe into the leakage of an offical document even before it was tabled in Parlaiment,'' he said addressing mediapersons here.

Refering to the privilege motion brought by Mr Singh against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Parlaiment on the leakage of the Pathak probe report, Mr Karat said ''I met him yesterday, but he never asked me for my support''.

''I will only be able to say something after I see the report,'' he said and refused to comment on the findings of the Pathak report.
