Justice Pandian appointed chairperspon of backward class commission

New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) Justice (Retd) S Ratnavel Pandian has been appointed as Chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes.

He has been appointed for a term of three years. The appointment will come into effect from the date, he assumes office, said an official release here today.

Justice Pandian was a judge of the Supreme Court from December 14, 1988 to March 12, 1994 and was also the acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court from March 13, 1988 to December 13, 1998, the release added.
