Indian cager named player of the month in Australian league
Sydney, Aug 7 (UNI) Indian cager Geethu Anna Jose has been named Big V Australian Basketball League Player of the Month for the stunning performance for her club Ringood Hawks.
At the end of the normal season, Geethu has also earned the record of being the highest individual score in any match in the entire league with an impressive 33 points in her last game.
She hit the court at the start of July after arriving here and took the Hawk's women's program by storm and ended her stunning month with the award which was announced by the League authorities.
Geethu almost achieved the unthinkable in July, just three rebounds off averaging a 20-20 for the month. She finished the month with 19.5 rebounds per game.
The tall centre for the Indian team at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games has helped the Hawks to a 4-2 record for the month and a league second best team scoring average.
