ICSA bags Rs 17 cr contract to set up 11 KV, LT lines in MP

New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) Hyderabad-based ICSA (India) Limited today said it has bagged a contract from Indore-based MP Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran company Ltd, to erect, test and commission 11 new KV, LT Lines at a cost of Rs 17.2 crore.

Under the contract, ICSA will also set up 11/0.4 KV Distribution and service lines, for BPL consumers package of RGGVY scheme in Ujjain district.

ICSA Ltd, which is listed on the Mumbai and Hyderabad stock exchanges, develops products suitable for power utilities in the field of energy management, energy audit, control applications and provides versatile Data Acquisition system using communication media such as GSM, CDMA, and RF.

''ICSA undertakes large power projects across the country and we want to balance our orders evenly between private and public sector companies,'' company MD G Bala Reddy said.

In India the company's clientele includes both private and government organisations.

The company reported a net profit of Rs 12.2 crore on a total revenue of Rs 59 crore during the first quarter ended 30 June, 2006 as against a net profit of Rs 2.4 crore. The company's revenue stood at Rs 11.6 crore during the same period last year.

Last month, the Central government had granted patents to ICSA for the technological innovation of Intelligent Catholic Protection (I Cap) System and Intelligent Automatic Meter Reading, both of which are equipped to revolutionise power, oil, gas and water resources distribution in the country. The company has applied for patenting of some other products as well.

ICSA has developed technology solutions for the Power Sector to identify Transmission and Distribution (T&D) losses and monitor power consumption using the GSM Network.

The Remote Switching facility designed by the company fits well with the ongoing power sector reforms. ICSA's remote sensing applications can transfer data from power points to the control room through telephone lines and wireless, including GSM technology.

ICSA Ltd provides technology products and services and research for Gencos (power generating companies), Gridcos (power transporting companies) and Discos (power distribution companies), making them cost efficient, minimising T&D (transmission and distribution) losses, providing energy monitoring, management, auditing, data acquisition and remote sensing capabilities.
