Mumbai, Aug 7 (UNI) The two days of unabated rains across the metropolis and its suburbs have made the citizens panicky and uneasy, reminding them of the nightmarish experience of 26/7.

Schools across the city remained closed today after the issuance of fresh warning by the Meteorological department of more rains in the city.

Central Railways Public Relations Officer (PRO) A K Singh told UNI that 35 suburban trains plying on Central routes were cancelled.

The cancellation, however, has not affected the commuters as fewer people are travelling, he added.

Brihanmumbai Muncipal Corportation (BMC) Commissioner Johny Joseph, through mobile short messaging service (SMS), has urged the people to stay indoors and avoid travelling unless essential during the next 24 hours.

Several offices wore a deserted look due to low attendance.

Anticipating the worse, the office-goers were seen rushing back to their homes early in order to prevent another chaotic wait.

Business in major markets such as that of cotton, commodity, oil and oil seeds were brisk as compared to normal days.

The bullion market, which is always abuzz with traders, also saw less trading in view of the torrential rains.
