Governor, CM condole death of Suraj Bhan
Shimla, Aug 7 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh condoled the demise of former Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Tribes Suraj Bhan who passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi last evening following a cardiac arrest.
He was 78.
The Governor and Chief Minister expressed grief over the demise of Dr Suraj Bhan and conveyed their heart felt condolences to the bereaved family members.
Mr Kokje said the services rendered by Suraj Bhan as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh would always be remembered by the people of the state. He also prayed the Almighty to give peace to the departed soul.
Mr Singh said Dr Bhan dedicated his life for the upliftment of down trodden and vulnerable sections of the soceity. He said that Bhan was a seasoned politician and good parliamentarian and services rendered by him in the various capacities would ever be remembered by the people of the country.
Bhan was the Governor of Himachal Pradesh from November 24,2000 to May 7, 2003.
