Firing at Varanasi temple: Case against 5 youth

Varanasi, Aug 7: A case has been registered against five youth in connection with firing at the famous Batuk Bhairo Mandir here late last night, police today said.

Some inebriated youth had stormed the temple, where 'Shayan Arti' was underway. One of the youth opened indiscriminate firing in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

Getting the information, police rushed to the temple, but failed to nab the culprits, who had already fled.

An FIR was lodged by temple Mahant Rakesh Puri.
