Despite advisaries, India records growth in foreign tourist arrival
New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) Notwithstanding the advisaries issued by some prominent countries against visiting India in the wake of the July 11 Mumbai blasts, the arrival of foreign tourists registered an impressive growth during the month.
The increase was 13.3 per cent as compared to the visit of foreign tourists during July last year.
Tourism ministry sources said here today that the total arrivals during July were 331,227 as against 292,345 during July last year.
In the first seven months of 2006, 2,486,117 foreign tourists have visited India as compared to 2,183,573 during the same period last year.
