CPM to take decision on Punjab polls next month

Amritsar, Aug 7 (UNI) The CPM will take a definate decision next month on its strategy for the assembly elections in Punjab to be held in February next year.

The party's national leadership will hold a meeting with the Punjab leaders in September to decide upon the line of action to be adopted for the Punjab polls, CPM general secretary Prakash Karat told mediapersons here today.

Asked to comment on the possible poll alliances, he said ''we will decide next month''.

Earlier Mr Karat addressed a meeting of party leaders and workers here and directed them to make efforts to expand the party base in the border state.
