Central Bank employees to strike on Aug 10, 11

Kochi, Aug 7 (UNI) To protest the anti-employee policies of the Central Bank of India, the United Forum of Central Bank Unions today called for a nation-wide strike on August ten and 11.

Talking to reporters here, the representatives of the forum comprising six unions said the workload of the employees had increased manifold as the management was not filling up the existing vacancies in the banks.

The call for the strike follows the nation-wide agitation by the forum on July 11, they added.

The forum demanded the management to immediately disburse the pending retirement benefits, recruit people in the existing vacancies and provide employment to the dependants of those who died in service.
