BSNL to extend broadband services to all taluks in K'taka
Davangere, Aug 7 (UNI) Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) will extend its broadband services to all taluks in Karnataka in a phased manner, Karnataka Circle Chief General Manager K Ramaganapathy informed today.
Speaking after presenting the Sanchar Padak and Sanchar Bharti awards here, he said there were nearly 1.10 lakh broadband connections in the state, of which Bangalore alone accounted for 90,000. Equipment for 3.25 additional lines would be allotted to Karnataka during the year, he added.
Mr Ramaganapathy said BSNL had introduced 'Excel Cell Power' to enable its Cell One customers to call one select landline number and a Cell One mobile number at the rate of Rs 10 paise per minute within the state. It had introduced a Rs 725 post paid scheme which offered unlimited free calls and free sms to all BSNL mobile lines in Karnataka.
