AP govt directs institutions to stop sale of soft drinks
Hyderabad, Aug 7 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to direct the government educational institutions not to allow sale of soft drinks in their premises.
According to an official release here, the state government would request the Centre to expedite the finalisation of standards and required guidelines on the soft drinks issue.
Finance and Helath Minister K Rosaiah, who discussed the issue regarding the levels of pesticides residues in soft drinks with the officials concerned, had directed them to collect random samples in all the 23 districts in the state and send them to Central Food Technology and Research Laboratory, Mysore for analysing the quantum of pesticides, the release added.
