AICC member urges Centre to release Rs 500 cr to AP

Hyderabad, Aug 7 (UNI)AICC member Rudraraju Padma Raju today urged the Centre to immediately release Rs 500 crore for Andhra Pradesh to overcome the flood situation.

In a statement here, he also asked the Union Government to release Rs 3,000 crore under the 'Bharat Nirman' programme for the modernisation of drainage system in Krishna district.

As the loss was beyond all estimates, the Centre, apart from releasing funds from the Calamity Relief Fund should release money from different departments, as per the report of the state government.

Mr Raju said the Union Government should immediately release funds without waiting for the Central team's report.
