TIDC hands over Rs 10 lakh profit to CM

Agartala, Aug 6 (UNI) The Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) has handed over a cheque for more than Rs 10 lakh to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, from its profit for the first time.

TIDC Chairman Prabitra Kar, who is also the MLA said here last night, that his organisation has earned a profit of more than Rs 66 lakh during 2004-05.

The TIDC was constituted in the state during 1974 under the Company's Act. The corporation had taken up a number of projects like food park, rubber park, export promotion industrial park at Bodhjungnagar Industrial Estate, where Rs 500 crore would be invested in near future.

The TIDC had given land to 17 industrial units so far at Bodhjungnagar in west district of whom production started in 10 units.

More than Rs 50 crore already invested, where 400 labours are working, and Rs 500 would be invested in the estate within two or three years time.

Mr Kar also said the bank in the state should play major role to set up industries in the state.
