Three ultras killed in encoundter

Hazaribagh, Aug 6 (UNI) At least three suspected CPI(Maoist) ultras were killed in a fierce encounter with the police between Gormukha and Lohbara hill under Chouparan police station area in bordering Bihar.

Suprintendent of Police Pravin Singh said three ultras were killed last night in a three-hour long encounter in which about 1000 rounds were fired.

The ultras of the banned outfit managed to take away the bodies of their companions, Mr Singh added.

Police recovered 2 looted rifles, 160 live cartridges, two cane bombs used for preparing land mines, a torch bomb and a walky talky set from the spot.
