Thenucho stresses the need of Trauma Centre for police
Kohima, Aug 6 (UNI) Nagaland Home Minister Thenucho has stressed on the need of a Trauma Centre in Nagaland police.
Inaugurating a new building of Police Central Hospital at Chumukedima near Dimapur yesterday, Mr Thenucho wondered why more deaths take place due to sickness in the police force.
He said there is no Trauma Centre in Nagaland Police and doctors could not treat the injured patients during emergency. He urged upon the police doctors to learn and train themselves to tackle emergency situations.
He told that besides allopathic, homeopathy and Indian systems of medicines should be encouraged so that when the police jawans, deployed in jungles, face any problems, they could not use natural herbs for treatment.
He also said knowledge of First Aid among the police jawans was also necessary.
Nagaland Director General of Police J Changkija, speaking on the occasion, said injuries and casualties sustained during the duty could not be avoided.
He also expressed concern over the alarming rise of HIV/AIDS in the state, for which the Red Ribbon Clubs were formed in the state.
