Roshan Singh gives India a winning start in Turkey Cadet Boxing
New Delhi, Aug 6 (UNI) The seven-member Indian contingent made a winning start to their campaign in the AIBA World Cadet Boxing Championships with Roshan Singh winning the first round bout in the 60 kg category in Istanbul.
On the opening day, the Indian pugilist beat Tazyyeov Vushal of Azerbaijan on points in a convincing manner, Col PK Muralidharan Raja, the Secreatry General of the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation said in a release today.
Roshan will face Iraliev Aigali of Kazakhstan in the next round match tomorrow.
Meanwhile, in the 54 kg category, Durga Rao will lock horns with Georgian Tsynavyonmasulyver later today.
A total of 212 boxers are representing 43 countries are in this World Championship.
