To solve the problem of importing food items from Bangladesh, which has been suspened since last few weeks, the minister said a joint high-level meeting with health department, education and customs would be held shortly to sort out the problem.
There is no obstruction to import food items from any part of the country but it is compulsory to examine its quality before the items were marketed. And this is the main responsibility of the customs, the minister said adding that earlier all such items would had been tested at Central Food Testing Laboratory in Kolkata but now the state has its own laboratory since 2002.
