India's chances bright in World snooker Team event good: Pankaj
Chennai, Aug 6 (UNI) ace cueist Pankaj Advani, who became the youngest to win a world title in 2003, is confident that India would be able to put up a creditable performance in the first ever World Snooker Team championsip to be staged in the United States from August 16 to 26.
Talking to UNI, Pankaj, who is here to take part in the Faheem memorial tourney conducted by the Tamil Nadu Billiards and Snooker Association, said India would be fielding two teams, one comprising himself, national champion Manan Chandra and Yasin Merchant and the other with Rafath Habib, Siddarth Rao and Aditya Mehta.
''Our chances are very good. Our team is very good. Whatever be the results this is probably the strongest team we are fielding in the first of its kind tournament '', 21-year-old Pankaj asserted.
Pankaj said ''Yasin has been the flag bearer of Indian snooker, Manan Chanda is the current national champion,'' said Pankaj, who had lost to Manan in the national final this year in Chennai.
'I am happy with the way we are playing. All three of US are in good nick'', the winner of four world titles said.
