Dams in Uttara Kannada, Shimoga dists receive good inflows
Sirsi, Aug 6 (UNI) Water level in the Linganamakki, Gerusoppa, Kadra and Supa reservoirs in Uttara Kannada and Shimoga districts are fast rising to touch the maximum level following heavy rain in the areas.
The water level in Supa dam stood at 555.5 mts as against its maximum level of 564 mts. The inflow into the reservoir was 17,791 cusecs.
Incessant rain in the catchment areas of Sharavati backwaters was also bringing sufficient inflow to the famous Linganamakki reservoir.
The water level at Linganamakki stood at 1812.00 ft, just seven ft short of its full level. The inflow into the dam was 31,476 cusecs and the discharge was maintained at 5,655 cusecs.
