CPI(M) urges Govt to take up relief measures on war footing
Hyderabad, Aug 6 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist) today urged the Andhra Pradesh Government to take up rescue and relief measures on war footing in the flood affected areas in the state.
In a statement here, CPI(M) State Secretary B V Raghaavulu said the government should provide 50 kgs of rice, 10 litres of kerosene to the affected families especially agricultural labourers and craftmen.
He also urged the Government to provide sufficient food, milk for children and medicines for the people staying in relief camps.
He said if necessary the government should engage private medical practitioners for providing medical assistance.
He appealed to the Government to take up immediate measures to repair the irigation facilities and to release sufficient funds inorder to complete the works very soon.
He said the government should construct pucca houses for the poor wherever they were damaged in the floods.
