2 killed, 8 injured in road mishap in Nagaland
Kohima, Aug 6 (UNI) At least two persons including a woman were killed and eight others injured, four of them seriously, in a sumo-truck collision near Chakhabama under Kohima district yesterday.
Official sources said the ill-fated vehicle was on its way from Dimapur to Kiphire with ten passengers. After crossing Chakhabama, the vehicle collided head-on with a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction and fell into a 200 feet gorge.
The victims were admitted to a nearby security force health centre, where they were provided first aid and sent to Naga Hospital here.
On arrival, the doctor declared one Toshi Yimchunger(24) and one Lucy Sangtam(30) as brought dead. Among the seriously injured, a one-and-half year baby was also admitted in the Naga hospital.
Police registered a case and investigation was on, sources said.
