Wedding bells for another Kollywood couple: Surya, Jyothika

Chennai, Aug 5 (UNI) Tamil actor Surya will be tying the nupital knot next month with Jyothika, younger sister of film star Nagma.

Being speculated for long, Surya's father Sivakumar, well-known veteran actor, confirmed here today that the wedding would be performed on September 11.

In a brief release to the media today, Mr Sivakumar, however, did not reveal the venue of the wedding but stated that a reception would be hosted on September 12 evening.

Surya, who made his debut in 1997, earned critical acclaim with his portrayal as a police officer in ''Kakka Kakka'' two years ago and films like ''Perazhagan'', ''Gajni'' and ''Aaru'', has been courting Jyothika for about four years. He has acted in 16 films so far.

Recently, the star couple had announced that they would be getting married in October, before Surya's father, rumoured to have been opposed to the marriage, formally announced the date today.

Surya and Jyothika have starred in six films. Their seventh film titled ''Jillennu Oru Kaathal'', is in the making. Jyothika had made her debut in Tamil cinema in 1999.
