Villagers suspect police hand in accused's death

Villupuram, Tamil Nadu Aug 5 (UNI) An Illicit arrack manufacturer today committed suicide at Aranganda Nallur police station in Veerapandi village near here today.

Police said Balamurugan(26), who was arrested in the morning for indulging in boot-legging, had taken the extreme step at 1100 hrs.

He was taken to the Tirukovillur Government Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

The villagers in Veerapandi, however, alleged that the accused was killed by the police in the station itself.
